In this class you will learn how to etch copper in a salt bath with a battery pack! This chemical-free technique is fun and easy and won't break the bank. I will also teach you how to color your copper to add extra dimension to your piece. We will also go over sanding, filing and piercing so you can leave with a piece of jewelry.

Learn how to cut sheet metal using a disc cutter, form the disc into a cup and attach the cup to metal to create a cold connection and beautiful finished earrings (or a pendant). The techniques learnt in this class can be used for a variety of jewelry making.  Kits will be available for purchase at class payable to the teacher. $7 for copper and $12 for silver.

In part two of this class you will take your fusing skills to the next level. Here you will learn to use two torches to create make large and more dynamic pieces to be used in earrings and necklaces. We will delve further into shaping and texturing and learn to fuse these shapes to each other. There is plenty of time to play in this class and get really comfortable with your torch heat and the capabilities of fine silver. Consider this silver smithing 102.

This basic technique will get you comfortable with a torch - you could consider this the 101 of silver smithing.
