Spotlight on Gemstones

I found some really magical stones in Tucson the last time I visited and wanted to share some of the spiritual properties of each of the stones I found.

+Labrodorite+

Labradorite is considered a tremendously spiritual stone, especially helpful for people who tend to overwork. It helps an individual regain energy while aiding the body and spirit in healing itself. In the metaphysical world, labradorite is considered one of the most powerful protectors.

+Variscite+

As a green gemstone, variscite is seen as a grounding stone and is associated with the gaining of wealth. Variscite is believed to help brain-related functions, improving intellect and logic. Not only that, but variscite is said to calm the brain by relieving stress and anxiety.

+Chalcedony+

This stone is believed to take its name from the Greek port of Chalcedon which is known today as Kadikoy in Turkey. Named the speakers stone, this gentle cool-headed gem was said to be strung around the neck of the great speaker of Cicero. Cicero must have known that Chalcedony’s meditative moods and measured mindset were of great value. It wasn’t just the Ancient Greeks who saw the value in Chalcedony, Native Americans also considered it to be a sacred stone too. It was often used in ceremony’s to ensure a sense of grounding. To this day, Chalcedony is still a popular stone to use in meditative practice and spiritual sojourns.

It’s known for its nurturing power but also its ability to help your words and conversations flow. It’s loved by public speakers, orators, lawyers, and politicians for its ability to bring diplomacy to the tip of your tongue. Chalcedony is also a stone of balance and can bring the body, mind, and spirit into complete harmony.

+Druzy Quarts+

These stunning druzy quarts captured my eye the first time I went to Tuscon and have held my gaze every since. This last trip I got a whole bunch of them and I am completely obsessed with the soft colors and twinkles.

Druzy is a powerful stress reliever bringing healing on a physical, mental, and spiritual level. It stimulates the imagination and awakens you to a feeling of self love and empowerment. It balances the emotional body to relieve stress, depression, sadness, and fear.

+Mohave Turquoise+

Mohave turquoise - This is a composite stone made from three different colors of turquoise; blue, green and purple. These stones start out as stabilized blue Kingman turquoise. Parts of it are dyed purple and then go through a bronze infusion process that creates the shiny color matrix. It is then formed, polished and ready to set into jewelry. The Kingman mine is the only mine authorized to process their turquoise in this manner.

I love these stones so so much. Each one is it's own abstract painting and no two stones are even remotely alike. Turquoise is an exceptionally powerful stone bringing protection from accidents and good fortune.

What do you think of these beauties?

+Aquamarine+

Another favorite from Tucson - raw Aquamarine stones. I only found three of these babies but couldn't resist getting them  Did you know that Aquamarine is also associated with tranquility, serenity, clarity, and harmony? As the first of the spring birthstones, the sea blue crystal represents transformation and rebirth. It embodies youthful vitality, purity, loyalty, hope, and truth. Who wouldn't want to wear a ring with those qualities?
