Wedding and Engagement Ring Classes

Wedding and Engagement Ring Classes

Come and make a non traditional, one of kind heirloom quality ring for you or your loved one in this personal, no experience required workshop!

Creating a personalised engagement or wedding band is so much more special when made with your own two hands. Come to my studio in Greenwood where I will personally guide you in making a ring that will last a lifetime. We can create your ring in two different ways depending on your budget, time line and design. Here’s how:

  1. FABRICATION: You will make your ring directly in metal. This works well for simple bands with small added details like a tiny gemstone, texture, a delicate curve or a very high shine. This class would be approximatley 3 to 4 hours and you will leave with a completed ring.

  2. LOST WAX CARVING: You will carve your ring in wax. This class is two parts over the course of about one month. First class is the carving part . All the details and the shape of the ring is carved in wax. This typically takes about 3 to 4 hours. Once the ring is compelted I will send it to my caster who will make it into the metal* of your choosing. You will then return to my studio for the second part where you will finish the ring: sanding, filing or polishing. We will also set the stone at this point. This is also usually 3 to 4 hours.

Please fill in the form below with as much information as you can - once I receive your email I will repond as soon as possible with options, and a quote.

A love story carved in wax and then cast in metal - made to last forever

A smiling woman and man are close together outdoors, with the woman's hand on the man's shoulder. The woman has long brown hair, earrings, and is wearing a teal sweater. The man has long dark hair, earrings, and is wearing a black jacket with a floral embroidery. They are standing in front of a background of leafless trees on a cloudy day.

Meagan wanted to created a personal engagement ring to surprise her partner Jesse, and so she came to my studio where we talked about their love story and then designed and crafted this incredibly unique and special ring.

She choose the texture of bark for the outside of the band, the coastline of San Juan Island for the side as well as an ethically American mined Montana Sapphire - which was set in the side of the ring so only Jesse can see it. All these elements have personal significance and are dear to the couple.
