A Studio Built for Makers
Samantha Slater Studio is built on the values of community and transparency. This light-filled, art-filled space is where I create my own work and where I invite you to refine yours. The cozy, private environment is perfect for tackling more complex questions at the bench. Enjoy some tea, settle in, and take advantage of the student discount to add a piece of professional narrative metalwork to your own collection after class.
Refine Your Craft
As a professional metalsmith with 20+ years in the industry, I help students bridge the gap between hobbyist work and professional craftsmanship. I move away from the "perfection trap" by offering interest-led learning filled with historical context and advanced techniques. You'll leave with new skills and a comprehensive print-out guide to help you master structural fabrication.
In this studio, I bridge the gap between tradition and modern expression. My designs are a dialogue between my South African heritage and the narrative metalwork I create here in Seattle—mixing hand-carved geometries with fluid, vintage snake chain. As you refine your skills at the bench, remember that we are crafting more than just jewelry; we are creating pieces to mark moments in your life that bear remembering.
