I traveled to Italy earlier this year and was lucky enough to find six Roman coins at a flea market. I brought the coins home, did some research, and discovered they were minted in 300 AD! How cool is that?
I really wanted to make them into jewelry but didn’t want to damage the originals, so I molded them and cast them. It is really amazing all the details you can see in the castings and I’m so happy I preserved the originals!
After further research, I discovered that wearing coins symbolizes abundance and prosperity - I was so delighted to discover this symbology as it really resonates with me.
The coins are cast in sterling silver or brass and hang on sterling silver or gold-filled chains respectively; necklace lengths are 16 or 18 inches long. Coins are approximately ¾ of an inch. This coin has a building on one side and Emperor Constantine’s profile on the other.
