Staying cool during summer show season - Tips for vendors

It can get really hot during the summer when doing outdoor shows, especially when you are on asphalt. I came up with some ideas to stay cool and thought I’d share them with you.

Add this shade cloth to the underside of the ceiling of your tent. It will reduce the temperature by at least 10’.

Here’s the link to the Shade Cloth - I used two 5’x10’ - because of the internal frame of my tent - this meant there was no dip in the middle of the cloth and I could get them straighter and higher than if I used a 10’x10’ cloth. I attached the shade cloth using Zip ties - you can then easily cut them at the end of the show when you are taking your tent down.

2. I would also get a Battery operated fan. Not only will this help to keep you cool but your customers will be grateful for it as well. You’ll need a battery for this and I decided to get a two pack - since some of the show days are very long. You can also get a bucket and fill it with ice and position the fan above the bucket to make “air conditioning”. It works :)
